Celebrate the launch of our 2025–26 season with a powerful pairing of two musical masterpieces—each composed a century apart, each born of a cross-cultural journey, and both brimming with energy, elegance, and emotional depth.

Antonín Dvořák – Concerto for Violoncello in B minor, Op. 104
Performed by acclaimed cellist Christine Lamprea, this is the most recorded cello concerto in history—and for good reason. Written during Dvořák’s time in New York, the work embodies his vision of a truly American music, embracing the voices of all Americans, regardless of race, gender, religion, or wealth. A cornerstone of the cello repertoire is sweeping, soulful, and deeply human.

Franz Josef Haydn – Symphony No. 102 in B-flat Major
One of Haydn’s dynamic and witty “London” symphonies, this work showcases the composer at the height of his creativity. Composed while in England, it’s full of verve, invention, and rollicking charm—an ideal counterpart to Dvořák’s soulful concerto.

Both composers created these works while living abroad—Haydn in London, Dvořák in New York City—and the pieces were written almost exactly 100 years apart, highlighting the evolving international spirit of classical music.
