Join us for the opening of the 2026-27 recital series at SoundWaves with our 2016 First Prize winner ChangYong Shin!

We are thrilled to welcome ChangYong back to the Lowcountry to commemorate ten years since he won the HHIPC!  Admired for his passionate, inspired performances and brilliant technique, ChangYong went on to win First Prize at the Gina Bachauer International Piano Competition and the Seoul International Music Competition. In 2022, he won the Raymond E. Buck Jury Discretionary Award at the Van Cliburn International Piano Competition, as well as the first prize in the Young Artist Award of the National Academy of Arts, Republic of Korea.

Now enjoying a thriving international career, including three critically acclaimed recordings, ChangYong returns to HHI to present a stellar program of music by Bach, Rachmaninoff, Prokofiev, Bartók, and Ravel.  Plus, SoundWaves is the ideal venue for you to enjoy his remarkable artistry in a most intimate atmosphere, so get your tickets today before it sells out–which it surely will!
