The Excitement Continues

The Hilton Head Symphony Orchestra began its exciting 31st season by introducing a new conductor/music director. John Morris Russell, who also serves as principal conductor of the Cincinnati Pops, has been enthusiastically welcomed by concert goers, musicians and the Hilton Head community. He is equally comfortable whether at the podium, speaking with the audience, rehearsing with the orchestra, attending board meetings or working with youngsters in area schools. His passion for music and his love of learning is contagious. Under Maestro Russell's leadership, it is safe to say that the excitement will continue for years to come! Volunteer Opportunities

Do you want to become more involved? Do you have time to give? Do you want to make a difference?

The League always welcomes volunteers. This year, League Co-Chairs of Volunteers are Carol Gyllenhoff (843) 671-6758 or gyllenhoff@hargray.com and Mary Murray (843) 689-9594 or Mmurray296@aol.com. Please contact either of them if you have interest in helping at the Concours d’Elegance, Fall or Spring Luncheons, Concert Receptions or Symphony Under the Stars. Help is needed to sell prize tickets, man beverage stands, welcome attendees, monitor an auction room, bake cookies or furnish hors d’ oeuvres. In other words, the League needs volunteers for anything and everything!
