Join us for an inspiring evening in the Gullah Geechee Cultural Series featuring acclaimed vocalist Myrna Clayton and Lavon Stevens with The Lavon Stevens Band. Through music, storytelling, and history, the program explores the foundations of Gullah Geechee culture, including special guest Thomas Curtis Barnwell Jr., a fifth-generation Hilton Head Island native, who will share the story of the Barnwell Tabby—one of the island’s oldest surviving structures and a powerful symbol of the African, Native American, and colonial influences that shaped the Lowcountry.

Chef Nettie Williams has prepared an authentic menu including entrée selections of jerk chicken served with peas and rice, and grilled peppers, zucchini, onions and squash, and corn bread (GF); meatloaf in a tomato sauce, peas and rice, and grilled peppers, zucchini, onions and squash, and corn bread; and fennel and bean soup made with great northern beans, tomatoes, spinach and white pinto beans, a scoop of white rice, and buttered corn bread (V). All three meals are preceded by a green salad course with gluten-free dressing. Gluten free cinnamon swirl crumb cake completes each meal.
