What is the League?
The League of the Hilton Head Symphony Orchestra is an organization of women and men who are dedicated to supporting and promoting the Hilton Head Symphony Orchestra through participation in special events, fund-raising, and volunteer services. Established in 1997, our members now number over 490!
What do we do?
Fund-raising is where we concentrate most of our efforts. Through Sunday afternoon Musicales; Marathon Bridge; a wine-tasting event in October at FreshMarket; the Big Band Bash in November; volunteer support of the Concours D’Elegance also in November; Symphony Under The Stars in March; support for the International Piano Competition; contributing to the Youth Orchestra and offering a docent program of outreach in the schools; and our brand new Symphony Shop, we lend our assistance to the Orchestra in a variety of programs. Post Concert Receptions; a New-Member party; and our year-end Spring Fling complete our social agenda. This past year the League donated $50,000 to the Hilton Head Symphony Orchestra and $10,000 to the Youth Orchestra.
What are the benefits?
We offer the opportunity to participate in any or all of our programs; to lend assistance to the Hilton Head Symphony Orchestra; to expand friendships; and to enjoy the music of this outstanding orchestra.
Having briefly outlined our purpose and programs, we invite you to renew your membership or join us for the first time. If you are not an Orchestra subscriber but love music and people, this is a perfect way to stay informed about the local musical scene as well.
