The Hilton Head Symphony Orchestra is offering an annual Summer Music
Scholarship to encourage and support talented young musicians in their
musical studies by participating in one of the country’s most respected
summer music programs. Each summer the Brevard Summer Music Institute
and Festival provides young musicians ages 14 through post college a unique
opportunity to interact with an accomplished faculty, renowned guest artists
and David Effron, the music center’s artistic director and principal conductor.
The program includes private lessons, a rigorous practice schedule and
concert performances similar to those experiences by professional musicians.
The award is for all tuition and costs to attend the Brevard Summer
Music Institute and Festival. The amount is for up to $5,000. These
costs include:
- Tuition
- Room and Board for 6.5–8 weeks, depending on program
- Private lesson fee
- Practice room fee
- On-campus health services
- Admission to all Festival events (more than 80 events in the full
session)
Completed Applications must be received no later January 12th, 2009.
Award Recipient(s) will be notified of their award(s) in late January
2008 and is contingent upon acceptance to the Brevard Summer Music Institute.
The application deadline for the Brevard Summer Music Institute and Festival
is March 1, 2009. Applications and information for this program can be
